Fall into Rust.

My latest posts have been about my edgy side but I do have a different side to my style.  I wanted to show my own take on a feminine 70’s feel. I love the color rust and this button front midi skirt was a must have. On the plus side the skirt can be great for any season and styled many different ways.

img_5068-1I wanted to add a denim pop to my outfit to give it that casual feel and to really compliment the rust skirt. This oversized denim buttoned shirt was a great choice for today’s whether it was thin and the perfect piece to go into fall with.

TIP: Denim, Denim, Denim. You can never have enough denim in your closet. The one I am wearing is oversized so it can work with any style. Must haves for your closet include: Denim Jacket, Long Sleeve Buttoned Top and a Short Sleeve Chambray Top.

I always wear boots it doesn’t matter what season it may be my  go to shoes are boots. But I’ve really been branching out and I got these strappy heeled sandals and it gives my outfit that feminine touch.

TIP: If you want to try out new shoes get them on sale. These were part of a Semi-Annual Shoe sale, and since I was so uncertain that I’d wear them, it was the perfect time to get the shoes.

Daytime Fun.

Saturday I went out around town and I could not wait to throw on this new Crisscross Front top! I was so excited to wear longer sleeves, Fall is my all time favorite season! I got this top from Forever 21, I love that it’s thin and easy to move in perfect for work & coming into Fall. Plus these new Mirrored sunglasses went perfectly with this outfit.

TIP: Look for causal knit tops with detailing, they are less expensive, easy to throw on and to feel comfortable in. I like to wear tops similar to this when I am feeling  frumpy or I know I am going to be doing activities like playing with my nephew.

To keep my outfit feeling daytime fun, I wore boyfriend denim with a plaid around my waist. I got both these items on sale and they are great pieces to find and not to pass up on! I kept my Accessories casual cool by wearing a camel beanie with a burgundy choker to add some color and black ankle boots so I can keep up with my nephew. I got my beanie from HM they have the best Men’s beanies, I can’t not wait to get more this year!

TIP: I know I brought this up on a previous post but really check out the Men’s section in stores. I got this white and black plaid on sale for $8.99 plus it was during BOGO so it was even better! It never hurts to look , especially since the shirt its self is longer and the length of the arms are as well. You can find similar Women’s styles in Men’s and it wont be as cropped or tapered in.

Don’t forget to always add your own style to your outfits! I love mixing different styles together, especially when I’m taking Edgy Street style pieces and mixing it with a bohemian touch like my accessories.

Chic in the Streets

Heading into Back to School season you want to have some of those key pieces in your closet. I paired a high neck black Bodysuit from forever 21 plus @ Forever21 with a gray midi A-Line skirt. You always want to add your own flair to an outfit, that’s why I slicked my hair back and wore black lace up platforms. And you can’t forget to get nice black leather backpack!

Depending on your style you can put an edge to your outfit with red lipstick or even dark burgundy or purple! Some of my favorite MAC lipstick colors are Russian Red, Diva, Cyber and Dubonnet depending on if like Matte, Amplified or Satin. And I would’ve loved to add a leather jacket to this outfit to make it that back to school feel but it’s still that summer feeling in Long Beach, CA.
